What We Do
We provide medical care for the poor, dig wells where there is a lack of
clean water, fly medical supplies to remote locations in our own plane
and provide educational and agricultural assistance to underserved
communities from our base in Puerto Plata, Sosua, Dominican Republic.
Our Background: Why?
I founded Ritzen Group, Inc (www.ritzengroup.com) a commercial real
estate development firm in the late seventies and retired a little over 3
years ago.
My wife and I cruised extensively throughout the Caribbean, diving and
fishing at almost every island on the map. Two years ago, we spent a
good deal of time in the Dominican Republic and Haiti and were
astonished at the need for basic services.
We knew that we could make an impact and help countless families
with the basic necessities for survival. We have been blessed in life
and now it is time to give back.
We sold the boat and began traveling to Haiti. We were hooked. We
now spend 80% of our time in Haiti and DR. We weathered IKE near
the beach in Haiti and spend time back home in the US rejuvenating
mentally and physically from ailments such as dysentery, salmonella
and spider bites. We love it!
